David Mayper Executive Director PFOAGreetings,

During a busy July, staff members attended the annual conferences of AmerisourceBergen, Cardinal and McKesson.  Each of the wholesalers put their best foot forward in terms of education and vendor offerings.  PFOA utilized these events to meet with vendors, strategic business partners and most importantly, our members.  Business reviews were prepared and covered with the attending members who answered our requests.  I thank the entire staff for their efforts.

Jeff Grieshaber, our controller, has taken over expense report review, financial reporting and a number of other projects which will enable us to better manage, grow and improve the association.

A vendor committee meeting was held in July as well as a Board webcast and phone conference covering key areas of consideration.

Larry McIntosh, Don Schreiber and I attended a Choice Rx Solutions board meeting in Chicago looking at direction and options for the PBM.  Additionally, Larry McIntosh suggested a limited opportunity potentially involving one PFOA member in 15 different states

August involved training to expand some staffers’ roles in the organization as well as transitioning some responsibilities. I met with our representative from Anda. Our planned initiative is currently on hold, seemingly affected by their acquisition by Teva.  I spent time in Central Florida meeting with staff and our sales consultant who was responsible for a large part of the recent PFOA membership growth.

Jeff Grieshaber and I went to St Louis in late August.  Larry, Don and I attended another Choice Rx Solutions meeting and I will set up a Board Meeting to include updated discussions on the PBM.

Approaching the final quarter of 2016, I will be meeting with the Board to discuss our progress this year and to prepare for 2017.  Adding a controller and having an experienced staff will result in a better position to plan.  It will help the association become stronger, continue to improve member services and remain relevant.

As always, thank you for permitting me to be your executive director.

Yours Truly,

David Mayper
