Dave's Corner

David Mayper Executive Director PFOA

The PDS annual meeting in Orlando was held at the end of February and attended by PFOA staffers David Mayper, Nancy Tataronis, Karen Godbold and Wes Drake . We met with existing vendors and gathered relevant material to help our membership. Time was spent networking with business partners and attending members. We hosted a successful dinner for our members, their families and staff sponsored by our business partner, Anda. We appreciate their continued support.

I recently attended the 2017 annual FPN meeting along with PFOA staffer Nancy Tataronis and Board and Vendor Committee members Larry McIntosh and Doug Coyle. This meeting has always been a good platform for gathering industry information, vendor updates and networking with industry leaders. During this trip I also worked with Mark Holden in the Southern California area.

The PFOA staff held a coverage blitz in Pennsylvania and New Jersey in March. Our members seemed happy to see us and it also gave us opportunity to visit several targets. Thanks to the entire staff for their preparation and execution.

Our newest staffer, Al Schuster began training in his sales position representing the northeast. Located near Cleveland, Ohio, Al’s experience includes 8 years with AmerisourceBergen and 5 years with Cardinal Health. We look forward to his contributions to our association.

Our new affiliation with American Pharmacies yielded approximately 40 locations for March participation. We have continued to sign additional qualified members for April participation. The first rebate results should be seen at the end of April. I want to thank the staff of American Pharmacies and our staff for the teamwork to make this a success. A lot of work continues to be done on this as it takes more management and staff involvement than other affiliations. It is no doubt an exciting opportunity with a like-minded group.

IPC and McKesson have recently provided an improved program for PFOA members. We are reviewing our membership and targets and expect a good number of members will benefit. I met with McKesson representatives while in California and attended a group meeting of some PFOA members interested in hearing about the PFOA/McK/IPC offering.

I hope you all are planning to attend the PFOA annual meeting in Kissimmee, FL on April 29th following the close of AAP’s annual meeting. Elections will be held and proxy votes have been distributed for those unable to attend in person. We will have a hospitality suite available for members and guests on Thursday and Friday nights.

Yours Truly,

David Mayper
